NHS 111 Online
From 27 June 2018, patients in Lancashire and Cumbria will be able to access the same urgent medical advice from the 111 phone line online at 111.nhs.uk
NHS 111 online allows patients to get urgent healthcare online. It also helps to manage increasing demand on 111 telephone services.
Patients can get medical help or advice from 111 online using their smartphone, laptop or other digital device.
The service is free to use and helps to direct patients to the right care, first time. Patients can use the online service to:
- answer questions about their symptoms
- find out where to get the right healthcare in their area
- get advice on self care
- get further advice from a nurse or doctor on the phone or during a consultation

Patient Access
Access to patient’s medical records is now available online, as well as the facility of ordering repeat prescriptions and making appointments.
Doctor Availability
At DVMP a doctor is always available throughout the surgery opening times (as shown on the website home page).
In the event of our doctor being absent to attend essential, mandatory training during our normal working hours, emergency cover is provided by phoning NHS 111.
Between 18.00 and 18.30 from Monday to Friday (apart from weekends and bank holidays) emergency cover is provided by DVMP (please phone our normal surgery numbers). After 18.30 (and also weekends or bank holidays) until 08:00 the next working day, NHS 111 is responsible for providing emergency cover. Please telephone 111.
The emergency numbers to ring after 18.00 till 08.00 Monday to Friday, and throughout weekends or bank holidays are provided by phoning our normal surgery numbers (as shown on the website home page).
